If you love country life, a long rural driveway, pastures and horses, Wolfe Heights Estates & Winery will not disappoint. The words “country estate” describes this lovely two-story home situated on a knoll, plopped down in the middle of country, and there are some pretty
views to be seen from atop that knoll. What we found intriguing about Wolfe Heights is that it can take care of two different size events.
For instance, if you desire an intimate gathering, consider utilizing the Estate House with its generous Great Room. There’s a lovely fireplace with mantle for your custom fresh florals and candles, and across the room is a beautiful open format kitchen. The coziness of this room is perfect for so many kinds of smaller parties. The pathway leading up to the Estate House is serene and has a sweet porch and nearby fountain for evening contemplation.
Step through the French Doors of the Great Room and enjoy a balconied veranda for cocktails or for al fresco dining. There is another spectacular fireplace on that veranda, which is quite unique. Gazing out over the lush landscaped property, weeping willow framed pond and vineyards makes the veranda a wonderful spot to thoroughly enjoy.
Now, if a larger event is what you have in mind, there are 30 acres to Wolfe Heights to enjoy! Wedding ceremonies are held in the stunning Unity Garden and Pavilion. This is the only venue we know that has permanent ceremony seating in-the-round. How cool is that!? The wisteria covered Pavilion is surrounded by lush plantings and many lovely white tree roses. Trellised archways of roses extend over the pathways leading to the Unity Garden.
Guests may wander the pathway around the pond that is surrounded by weeping willows… it is so darn pretty! There is plenty of space for cocktail gathering, as well as for dining on the Courtyard adjacent to a large open lawn. Tables may be set up on the courtyard where a majestic Mediterranean fountain spilling into a holding pool holds center court, or a dinner tent may be erected on the lawn.
We love the tavern-style bar, with a grand arched doorway opening that leads to the Courtyard dancing fun. Partying under the glow of strands of market lights will be a great ending to a day of celebration. All this fun and beauty is surrounded by pure country, including rows of vineyards and olive trees.
And bonus item… the Estate House can be reserved for overnight accommodations with four bedrooms and 3 bathrooms! If you want a one stop venue, the Estate House would be lovely for rehearsal dinner venue. Let the ladies stay overnight and get a fresh morning start at the private estate for hair and makeup; and then party into the night with your larger wedding group on the grounds the following day – what fun! Do give this venue serious consideration for your wedding or social/party event. Check out the blog post on the Dressing Room!
As a site note, several of the photos showing in the collection were taken in the winter months…even still the grounds were lovely, but what a difference come spring/summer and fall! The roses bloom and the trees are in full leaf. It’s a lovely venue! Check it out.
