To Marry Underneath a Tree… a Series {4 of 5}
Number 4 in a series of 5
This post is on Vixen Venues that have Weeping Willow trees as a ceremony backdrop. With a long history of symbolism, the willow has deep roots with spirituality and psychic ability. The strong association with the moon comes from the trees love for water. A symbol of fertility and new life, a willow branch can be planted in the ground and from it, a new tree will grow in its place. Its ability to grow and survive is powerfully symbolic and shows how we can thrive even in challenging conditions.
The rich fertile soil at this Yolo County family farm, plus the lovely large natural pond, make for perfect conditions for the collection of weeping willows at Historic Oakdale Ranch. Marry in front of the willows, or walk around and take advantage of willow photo ops before your dinner reception. Dining can take place on the open air lawn, or walk a short country road to the large metal barn (you can arrange for a “hay wagon” ride to the barn!)
The beautiful tranquil setting of Mettler Family Vineyards is perfection to hold a wedding surrounded by weeping willows. Because of the love for water, the trees grow along the lawn and edge of the pond. The dock over the pond is wonderful as a ceremony platform or certainly for photos. Located in the Lodi Appellation, wander the 7 beautifully landscaped grounds, and enjoy vineyard strolls, too. The reception patio and lawns are adjacent to the beautiful wine tasting room.
