Abele Farms is in the beautiful countryside of Yolo County and is the perfect venue for events and weddings. Just 30 minutes from Sacramento and the Sacramento airport, this lovely farm is made up of 850 acres. The drive through the almond orchards, especially during spring bloom, makes for a picturesque entrance to the property.
Read MoreThe family has owned and lived on the farm for 6 generations! The great grandparents of the current owner built the original homestead in the 1850’s. You’ll enjoy hearing the family history and seeing the Victorian furnishings and details, along with portraits of the ancestors, inside the impressive Estate Home. It was completed in 1878 and the rich decor offers wonderful spots for bridal portraits.
Abele Farms has so many unique looks – it can fit many different styles of design. So, let’s start with the beautiful, historic Estate Home. Chairs on the lawn have the perfect view of the grand stairs and columns. This makes the front porch an iconic altar and the home a magnificent backdrop for a wedding ceremony. Guests might enjoy pre-ceremony drinks poolside or on the adjoining patio; either of which can also be used for cocktail hour or for a smaller dinner al fresco. An event in these areas can take on a formal-traditional look, or a southern style, or even a boho garden party feel.
The next area is the 1930’s barn which is rustic, with open wood beamed ceiling and rafters. The barn can easily fit dining tables, a dance floor, a bar and lounge, and more. There are built-in rustic work benches just calling for a buffet or dessert station. Also, a few vintage farm implements and the original wagon, that years ago transported the family into town, are displayed in nooks around the perimeter. This super clean barn, with it’s rustic charm can easily be glammed up. And a benefit with being inside the barn, is the reprieve from the Northern California sunshine … and then after sunset it turns into a magically romantic celebration spot glowing with overhead market lights.
Adjacent to the barn, the Games Corral is in the works. This is an area for outdoor activities such as corn hole or horse shoes and is a perfect spot for a late night snack-cart or food truck. We can’t wait to see how this area develops! And very nearby is the sweet strolling rose garden, which is lovely for guests to enjoy or for some romantic wedding photos.
The cute red original homestead is 170 years old and has been completely revitalized into a Dressing Suite. It’s a wonderful place where the wedding party can have hair and makeup services, relax and snack, and then dress for wedding. There is also a separate area off the barn for the other half to relax and hang out before the festivities.
The estate grounds are gorgeous and manicured, with continual blooms and greens so additional decor can be minimal. There are treasures and photo ops everywhere. How about a 1930’s firetruck that’s available for the bride’s entrance or photos? I mean wow! Get creative and make your country estate wedding everything you’ve imagined.
