The gold country town of Murphys, California, in Calaveras County, will steal your heart and force a return to claim it. The history, the wine, the artistry, the trees and the small town feel immediately draws you in. We Vixens had an enjoyable tour of the  beautiful tree shaded venue very near Main Street. It’s perfect with a private residence feel and the ability to come in, host your party, and leave! Crestview Pond Estate is this ideal spot.

This 20-acre garden setting can be the backdrop to your next corporate retreat, family reunion, or wedding The grounds and sleeping accommodations allow up to 120 guests with overnight accommodations for 7 couples.

Cocktail hour in the small gazebo or guests flowing through the expansive property with cocktails in-hand might be a better. There is open lawn space for a wedding ceremony, and for seating at tables for a dinner reception or party.  Additionally, there are patios, comfy chairs, a swing couch, and shade umbrellas throughout. And all the event spaces are shaded by afternoon.

The multitude of event spaces include a backdrop of the focal pond with a waterfall spilling into fresh water…plus an iconic paddle boat. Cattails and reeds surround one side of the pond and the trees provide wonderful shade. The sunken Amphitheater Lawn is beautiful with Angels Creek running alongside and a small walking bridge over the creek. The lawn is surrounded by trees and ivy-covered hillside. My very favorite space is the covered bridge that sits on the high side of the property.

The accommodations at Crestview Pond Estate vary from the Main House, the Studio, the Cottage and a fun Airstream trailer.

  • The Main House has 3 large bedrooms, a large kitchen, family and dining rooms and a sweet porch to enjoy the silence of the property.
  • The garage can double as catering space when a full service caterer is utilized for events. The Studio sleeps 2 guests and has a fireplace and a beautiful bathroom with glass blocks and river rock details.
  • The Cottage sleeps 4-6 guests and is perfectly adorned with a butcher block island in the kitchen Also, a main bathroom and two rooms with queen beds and loft beds.
  • The Airstream is to die-for. This sleeps 2 guests in a private space near Angel’s Creek continues it’s route through the property.

Crestview offers easy parking with available space to discretely park 80 cars via valet service. Or consider the convenient shuttle opportunities from Murphys. We can’t imagine a better destination event location. Main Street Murphys is very close offering wine tasting rooms, fantastic restaurants, and a variety of boutiques and shops. With many accommodations available, your guests will come to celebrate and return because that’s just what Murphys does to you!
