We “Vixens” get very excited when we happen upon a little known, secret venue… especially one that is in Napa County – Triple S Ranch. It’s such an awesome spot that it will not remain a secret for long!
Located on an uphill winding country road, just a few miles from charming downtown Calistoga sits this wondrous venue. Napa Valley has more to offer than just vineyards… there are beautiful valleys, oak studded hillsides, vistas and former ranch properties. Triple S Ranch has a varied rich history dating back to the 1860’s when the unique (current) reception space was a former dairy barn. The dairy barn, through the decades, became a winery and then a restaurant and road house. Such a colorful life!
The present owner, a world traveler and collector of cool architectural pieces, has transformed the building into a great space to hold a dinner function, hang out at an impressive bar, snuggle by a large fireplace, or enjoy a fun dance party. We appreciated the work and craftsmanship he has done with beautiful door/shutter treatment on the front of the barn; those awesome shutters are from a property in Argentina! The finished interior wood floors, open beamed ceiling, multi-paned windows on three sides, relaxing deck, creekside patio, and historical detail touches are evident everywhere.
The Grand Victorian – What a beauty this home is – a true elegant Victorian built and added on to starting in the 1840’s to create a 5,500 square foot home. It is filled with fantastic antiques and modern comfortable living space furniture. The benefit of this home is that it can sleep a total of 17 people, with different bed configurations. Bridesmaids, groomsmen, parents, friends… however you wish to assign the rooms! There are 3 bedrooms with on-suite bathrooms, a beautiful dining room, and great kitchen to create your meals, and to add to this luxury there is a hot tub to enjoy with a supply of towels. Imagine coastal weather, stars, breezes and a hot tub. Giddy!!
Additionally, there are 13 darling vintage cabins/cottages for housing your guests. Some of the cottages have kitchens, or two bedrooms. All are modernized with king beds, exquisite bedding and new bathrooms, but still the cottages carry the vintage décor and charm of when these 1950’s units were first built.
Looking for the perfect wedding ceremony spot? Wander down a short path through a walnut orchard and find yourself standing under the glorious canopy of a massive 200 year old walnut tree. The views from this spot of the distant hillside and the surrounding ranch property are lovely. Or if you are enamored with the Victorian house, we also see a wedding ceremony designed with that charming architecture as a backdrop.
With a beautiful swimming pool on property, and the private 12 acres to roam, we see no reason to leave this destination weekend spot… but if you do want to explore there’s wine tasting throughout Napa Valley and wonderful restaurants within 3 miles in downtown Calistoga. You’ll have the best of both worlds. Triple S Ranch is private and intended to be utilized for a full weekend; we see Triple S Ranch as a venue to immerse yourself – whether a wedding weekend with family and friends, a corporate team building experience, or even a yoga retreat and/or tent GLAMPING(!)… so many possibilities.
